A Fábrica de Gelo instalada no bairro São Francisco, região central de São Sebastião, anunciada como uma ferramenta ao pescador do município ainda está parada, apesar de sua inauguração em julho de 2016. O projeto, fruto de convênio formalizado com o Governo Federal em 2012, ainda não tem previsão para entrar em atividade.
A reportagem apurou que a Fábrica chegou a funcionar em fase de teste. Segundo relatos no local, a Fábrica operou cerca de 20 dias em período experimental. Mas nessa quarta-feira (28), nossa equipe esteve no local e não encontrou ninguém trabalhando.
O presidente da Federação dos Pescadores, Edivandro Soares de Araújo, participou de reunião com o prefeito Felipe Augusto (PSDB), para conversar sobre o assunto. “Está em tramitação à possibilidade da Federação das Colônias de Pescadores de São Paulo assumir a Fábrica de Gelo para os pescadores”, acredita Araújo .
Ele esteve recentemente em Brasília, onde tratou do tema com Dayvson Franklin de Souza, secretário nacional da Secretaria Especial da Aquicultura e Pesca, órgão que faz parte da Casa Civil. “Ele me falou que é possível”, conta Araújo sobre a Federação arrendar a Fábrica.
O superintendente da Pesca em São Paulo, Marcos Pereira, explica que a Fábrica de Gelo de São Sebastião foi concedida durante o Ministério da Pesca, onde foi firmado um contrato entre o então prefeito da época, Ernane Pimazzi (PSC) e o Ministério. Entre as partes, ficou acordado a Prefeitura como responsável por executar a implantação da Fábrica.
“Devido à fase de transições que passa o País, e o pouco efetivo que se dispõe para averiguar a quantidade de contratos referente à Pesca, fica difícil analisar o processo”, confessa Pereira.
“Vou entrar em contato com a Prefeitura de São Sebastião, e realizar uma vistoria na Fábrica de Gelo, para ver qual será o caminhado tomado”, promete o superintendente, sem apresentar qualquer prazo.

Segundo a Assessoria da Comunicação da Prefeitura, desde que a atual Administração assumiu o governo, a Secretaria Municipal de Meio Ambiente está trabalhando para começar as atividades do espaço.
A atual Administração revela que foram identificadas várias falhas na execução da obra, bem como a falta de peças indispensáveis para o funcionamento do local.
Diante disso, a Prefeitura afirma que a Fábrica já passou por algumas reformas. Em julho deste ano foram iniciadas as operações de testes para o funcionamento do espaço. No momento, está sendo feito um convênio para a seção de operação do local.
